Residents of Yaroslavl Region have complained about the removal of their comments from the page of Governor Mikhail Yevrayev on VKontakte.

«Yesterday, after hours-long outages of electricity and heating in apartment buildings, residents of the Shchedrino settlement began leaving comments on the governor«s page asking to look into the problem. At the same time, people wrote in a restrained manner—without insults and excessive demands. In response, the page administrators deleted all comments and blocked from 7 to 11 local residents who left these appeals»,— reported the group »This Happened in Rybinsk«.

Complaints about deleted comments and blocking have appeared periodically before. The portal 76.RU appealed to the regional government for explanations about the principles of moderators« work with comments on the head of the region»s social media pages.

«Comments that contain rude and offensive statements and tone, and have signs of spam are deleted from the accounts of the governor of Yaroslavl Region on social media and messengers. The authors of these messages receive a temporary block»,— reported the press service of the Yaroslavl Region government.

Recall that on 23 and 24 January 2026, during severe frost, residents of the Yaroslavl settlement Shchedrino were left without electricity. The head of the Yaroslavl municipal district, Alexey Mikhaylov, reported, citing «Rosseti», that the power outages occurred due to a shutdown at the main substation «Shchedrino». By 18:00 on 24 January Alexey Mikhaylov reported the complete restoration of power supply in the Yaroslavl district.

The situation became the reason for initiating a criminal case. The regional investigative committee reported that the investigation is being conducted under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements for life and health of consumers).

The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, took control of the issue.
