The farewell date for Valery Starikov — co-founder of the Ironic Company theater and former vice-mayor of Perm — has been announced. The former official died at the age of 64.

Valery Starikov was born on October 22, 1961 in Perm and died on January 22, 2026. In the 1990s, he founded the Ironic Company theater, and in 2000, he became the chief editor of the information and entertainment programs department at «T7». In 2005, Valery Starikov was appointed head of the department for culture, sports, and youth policy, and in 2006, he moved to the position of director at the Perm Puppet Theater. In recent years, he worked at the Center for Sports Training.

Valery Starikov«s son on his VKontakte page listed his father»s years of life and wrote a farewell post.

«Dad always said he was a life lover. I»m sure few can argue with that. He masterfully managed to infect everyone around him with this love for life,« wrote Starikov»s son. «He knew how to find an approach to everyone, so he was unique to all. Some called him familiarly Borisych, while others tenderly — Valerochka. For me, he was Dad.»

The farewell for the former vice-mayor will take place on January 26 at the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called (Startseva, 140A), with the memorial service starting at 14:00.

Colleagues of Valery Starikov from the Center for Sports Training also wrote memorial posts. In the comments, those who knew Starikov spoke out.

«A good and cheerful person, knew how to be a friend and work,» «I can»t believe it... Bright memory,« »The kindest person... He loved dogs very much, just like us. He always asked how my dogs were. And he always told me: «Talk to them, they understand everything,»« »Bright memory to you, Borisych,« write his acquaintances.
