Region to Boost Free Home Culture in 2026

In 2025, cultural events in the Novosibirsk Region were attended by more than 10 million people, as reported at a meeting of the regional Ministry of Culture board. This means that, on average, each resident attended a concert, play, or exhibition several times over the year. Authorities promise that in 2026 there will be even more such opportunities—and not only in the regional center.
Last year, more than 180,000 major festivals, chamber concerts, and museum programs took place in the districts. According to the Ministry of Culture, interest is steadily growing: attendance has increased by 24.5% over the past three years.
The theme of memory will not end with the Victory anniversary
A significant portion of events in 2025 was dedicated to the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of Victory. In total, about 5,000 cultural and educational events on this theme were held in the region. According to the governor, many projects resonated with residents and spread beyond the region, being discussed at the federal level.
However, authorities do not plan to close the theme with the calendar year. Regional Governor Andrei Travnikov emphasized that work on historical memory cannot be a one-time action. In 2026, cultural institutions will update and continue programs dedicated to the Great Patriotic War and defenders of the Fatherland. Especially since the next year has been declared the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, and the country«s history itself provides a solid foundation for this.
Free concerts and excursions for SVO participants
A separate area is support for participants of the special military operation (SVO). In 2025, the region continued to operate a system of rehabilitation certificates. It allows soldiers who have been wounded or injured to attend concerts, plays, film screenings, and museum excursions for free.
Over the year, nearly 300 applications were received, resulting in 923 visits to cultural events. More than 30 cultural institutions across the region took part in the project. Essentially, this is not about one-off actions but a built support system available in different cities and districts.
New community centers, art schools, and music near home
Culture in the region is not only events but also infrastructure. In 2025, as part of the state program «Culture of the Novosibirsk Region,» new facilities were opened:
a children«s art school in Cherepanovsky District;
two community centers—one in Yarkovo village (Novosibirsk District) and one in Ozero-Karachi village (Chanovsky District);
construction of a new building for Children«s Music School No. 10 in Akademgorodok was completed, and it will open soon.
Plans for 2026 are already in place: construction will begin on a district community center with a children«s art school in Chulym.
What will change for families and teenagers
In 2025, a new national project «Family» was launched. In the cultural sphere, it is implemented through the regional project «Family Values and Cultural Infrastructure.» It covers eight areas and 15 objects—from upgrading venues to new formats of family leisure.
At the same time, authorities continue to develop the «Pushkin Card» program, historical education, and the sector«s human resources. Today, the cultural sector of the Novosibirsk Region employs over 17,000 people and includes more than 2,000 state and municipal institutions.
