Pyatigorsk Plans to Spend 520 Million on Tsentralny Stadium Renovation

In Pyatigorsk, a major repair is planned for this year, with over 520 million rubles (about $5.8 million at current rates) allocated. Currently, a contractor is being sought, and the customer is the Municipal Institution «Capital Construction Management Department» (MKU).

A new auction has appeared on government procurement sites. This time, it is planned to repair the Tsentralny stadium, which is located in Pyatigorsk. The contractor is required to handle various utilities, electricity supply and lighting, set up irrigation and drainage systems, and improve the field and buildings.

Over 520 million rubles have been allocated for this: 494.2 million rubles (about $5.5 million) from the budget of Stavropol Krai for 2026, and another 26 million rubles (about $289,000) from the budget of Pyatigorsk. As stated in the documents, when determining the price, they considered the cost of performing the work, supplied goods, materials, equipment, transportation expenses, costs for temporary buildings and structures, connecting the facility to networks, waste removal, and unforeseen work.

Applications can be submitted until February 16, they are planned to be reviewed by February 18, and the results will be announced the next day. The work itself must be completed by June of this year.

But these are not the only expenses. Another 1.2 million rubles (about $13,300) from the budget of Stavropol Krai has been allocated for flower bouquets. The list specified particular plants: roses, tulips, chrysanthemums, gypsophila, carnations, and others. The documents state that the contractor must deliver the flowers from January 1 to December 31, 2026, and supply them to the building of the government of Stavropol Krai or to another address specified by the customer.
