An unplanned cold water cutoff occurred in the Central District of Volgograd. Residential buildings and the Serebryakov Volgograd State Conservatory were left without water supply.
Prominent public figure Sergey Ostrovsky sharply condemned the incident. «My wife with wet hair — didn»t have time to wash it,« he complains. »I called the unified dispatch service, and they told me everything. It turned out that at Communist Street, 10, they are changing the metering device. Without warning, several buildings were cut off, including the Serebryakov Conservatory and, apparently as a side effect, Mira Street, 6. They said the cutoff will last at least until 8:00 PM. Rudely, without warnings, barbarically, brazenly, treacherously they cut off the water, treating us, residents, like cattle!«
The conservatory administration confirmed the lack of water. «They said they are installing metering devices, which is why the line was shut off and there is no water,» the educational institution reported. «Students are on vacation now, so only individual lessons are being held. There are almost no people in the conservatory. They couldn»t specify the exact time, but we hope they«ll do it quickly.»
Representatives of the «Concessions of Water Supply» company reported that water supply is temporarily suspended due to the installation of building-wide metering devices at Communist Street, 10. They did not specify the exact restoration timeframe, recommending citizens to contact the unified dispatch service (EDS).
Simultaneously, in the «Rodnikovaya Dolina» microdistrict since Saturday, residents of one of the apartment buildings have also been deprived of water due to frozen pipes. In local chats, residents exchange advice, for example, using a hairdryer and a corrugated hose to warm up potentially frozen sections.
