Prosecutor secures compensation for pensioner over medicine
The Kholm Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office obtained 10,000 rubles ($111) in compensation for moral damages for an 81-year-old pensioner who was not provided with free medicine in a timely manner.

In Kholm (Novgorod Oblast), a local resident filed a complaint with the prosecutor«s office about a violation of her rights to medication. It turned out that the 81-year-old woman with a serious illness was entitled to receive a certain drug free of charge, but the necessary medication was not provided to her.
After the intervention of the prosecutor«s office, the pensioner was provided with the life-saving medicine during the court proceedings. In addition, the prosecutor»s office obtained through the court a compensation of 10,000 rubles ($111) for moral damages for the untimely provision.
