Profitable marriage fraud with SVO fighters exposed in Zauralye
Regional officials discuss a scheme where women marry soldiers to claim death benefits.
Special «brides» have appeared in Zauralye—women who marry participants of the Special Military Operation (SVO) just days before the men are sent to the combat zone. This information was voiced at a meeting of the regional parliament«s committee on social policy.
«There are »brides« who marry a fighter literally out of the greatest love, a week, a month, two or three days before he departs for the SVO. He is killed. She then becomes the queen of payouts. There was a recent trial—four episodes involving payments. Can you imagine, she was married to four of them. Two weeks—that was the longest duration of her marriage. In the end, they died, and she was after the payments. But ultimately, the court ruled against her,» was stated at the Duma meeting.
Earlier, the editorial board of 45.RU reported that in Shumikha, a criminal group was detained for deceiving and embezzling payments intended for SVO participants. Divorced spouses looked for single men, the woman would marry them, and then they would become SVO participants. Later, the former spouses would take the payments received after the fighter«s death. Law enforcement was able to track them down after one of the deceased»s sisters began searching for him.
