Professor Vasily Kozlov, Former Deputy Governor, Passes Away

Professor and Doctor of Economic Sciences Vasily Kozlov died in Nizhny Novgorod, just shy of his 78th birthday. The educational institution where he worked announced this on social media.

In 1972, Kozlov graduated from the Electromechanical Faculty of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute. His career began at the Sormovskaya Thermal Power Plant, where he rose from the position of senior engineer to head of department.

From 1992 to 1995, Vasily Dorofeevich served as deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, heading the department of economics and forecasting. After that, he led the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Fund for Training Financial and Management Personnel, remaining as general director until 2001.

From 2004 to 2016, Kozlov managed the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Institute of Management and Economics of the Agro-Industrial Complex, and then moved to Knyagininsky University. He is the author of over 100 scientific publications.

Under his daughter«s post on social media, colleagues and friends are leaving words of condolence. »My heart is breaking with pain! Dear Vasily Dorofeevich... A bright, kind, wise Person will always live in my soul... Tears are choking me. So very sorry,« wrote Yulia A.

«Vasily Dorofeevich was a wonderful, sensitive, kind, attentive, very bright person. He always saw beauty and showed it to us. When communicating with him, this world became kinder. I will always keep memories of him in my heart. I am so very sorry. Bright memory,» added Yulia M.

Last week in Nizhny Novgorod, Svetlana Seyfi also passed away, a honored teacher of Russia who dedicated over 60 years to teaching at School No. 66.
