A massive power outage affecting Clinical Hospital of Emergency Medical Care No. 15, a military enlistment office, and the Old Sarepta museum-reserve occurred today, January 22, in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd.

The first to report the power outage was the Old Sarepta museum-reserve, where operations had to be halted.

‘Dear guests of our museum! The museum is closed today for technical reasons. We apologize!’ was announced on the official Telegram channel of Old Sarepta. The museum-reserve explained to a V1.RU correspondent that the closure was due to a sudden power outage.

The power supply issues affected not only the cultural institution but also the nearby Hospital No. 15 and the military commissariat.

As reported by V1.RU from Volgograd Interdistrict Networks, the power outage was linked to cable damage.

‘Power supply ceased due to a technical failure of an underground electric cable,’ the organization explained. ‘Work was being carried out on the territory, as a result of which the cable was damaged. The outages affected the museum-reserve, the enlistment office, and the hospital. The issues were soon resolved. By 16:10, power supply had already been restored.’
