Residents of Perm complained about a sudden power outage on the evening of January 22. Judging by comments from our readers, this occurred across the entire city. We found out the cause.

On the evening of a frosty Thursday, electricity went out across Perm but quickly came back on. We posted a poll in our Telegram channel which confirmed the power was cut in various city districts. Readers mentioned the neighborhoods of Gayva (Gayva), Molodezhny (Molodezhny), Parkovy (Parkovy), Nagorny (Nagorny), Zagarye (Zagarye), and the Krokhaleva microdistrict. Some Perm residents specified their locations—a power flicker around 6:00 p.m. was noted on Pushkin, Vlasov, Dekabristov, Lunacharsky, Ushakov, Neftyankov, Krasnye Kazarmy, Monastyrskaya, and Krisanov streets.

In response to an inquiry from 59.RU, the company Rosseti Ural (Rosseti Ural, part of Rosseti Group) clarified that at 5:57 p.m., an emergency shutdown occurred on a 110-kilovolt power transmission line. Afterwards, the power was automatically restored without specialist intervention. Rosseti employees went to the site to determine the cause of the fault.

Earlier, we showed what the Industrial District (Indurstrialny District) looks like in the evening without lighting. In 2024, there was no electricity there for more than an hour.
