Power begins trial restoration for residents of Murmansk and Severomorsk

In the Murmansk region, power supply has been restored to the feeding center that provides electricity to the northeastern part of Murmansk and the city of Severomorsk. This was reported by the press service of Rosseti North-West.
Specialists from Rosseti North-West have completed the installation of two temporary supports on the power line that was damaged due to a severe storm and wet snow at the end of last week.
As a result, electricity is once again being supplied to consumers who previously experienced outages. Work on the line is ongoing—power engineers are installing a permanent support and restoring three more damaged power lines.
Emergency crews, the company«s special equipment, as well as contracting and related organizations are involved in the aftermath of the bad weather. Work is being carried out around the clock and is complicated by severe weather conditions, swampy tundra, and hard-to-reach damage sites.
After the power line was switched on, a stable power supply to the 150 kV «Promzona» substation in Murmansk has been ensured. All previously imposed restrictions on consumers have been lifted. Regional power grid companies continue to connect subscribers.
Earlier, Andrey Chibis stated that a power supply line had been installed on temporary supports in the Murmansk region.
A state of emergency has been declared in the Murmansk region. It may take at least a week to fully restore power after the accident. The Murmansk region prosecutor«s office has already launched an investigation due to mass power outages. A criminal case has been initiated. It turned out that the fallen power line supports had been in service for almost 60 years.
