Police conducted a preventive police operation on Vasilievsky Island. The results of the raid were published by the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast on 21 July.

Cars were inspected on Korablestroiteley Street and Kruzenshtern Avenue. Officers from the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GAI), a special police regiment, and the OMON of the Russian National Guard checked documents, searched interiors, and used special devices to assess noise levels and light transmission of windows.
In total, over 200 vehicles and 354 people were checked, of which 36 were foreigners. Two people were taken to a police station: one was wanted, and the other had violated rules on storage and carrying of weapons.
One of the drivers presented an official ID of an administration employee. The document raised suspicions and was sent for examination.
Following the raid, 12 administrative reports were filed for tinted windows, drunk driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, and other violations.
