On 21 July, the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) summarized the results of a preventive operation on Vasilyevsky Island. During the raid, police officers together with OMON of the National Guard (Rosgvardia) checked vehicles on two major thoroughfares — Korablestroiteley Street and Kruzenshtern Avenue.

Traffic police inspectors, supported by a special police regiment and Rosgvardia officers, inspected vehicle interiors, checked documents, and used specialized devices to measure noise levels and window light transmission.
In total, over 200 vehicles and 354 individuals were inspected. Among them were 36 foreign nationals. Two people were taken to the police station: one was wanted, and the other had violated rules on the storage and carrying of weapons.
One driver presented an official ID of an administration employee, which aroused suspicion among police. The document was sent for examination.
As a result of the raid, 12 administrative protocols were drawn up for various violations: illegal tinting, drunk driving, operating an unregistered vehicle, and others.
