Perm Heating Specialists to Use Diagnostic Dye in Pipes

Specialists from the Perm Heating Networks will inspect pipelines in the city«s left-bank area. For this, a harmless fluorescent marker — the substance Uranin-A — will be added to the heating system. The work will begin on 21 January in the heating supply zone of Perm»s Thermal Power Plant No. 6, covering the Motovilikha, Leninsky, and Sverdlovsky districts.
“It is during the heating season, when the system is completely filled, that the use of Uranin-A yields the best results. The substance is introduced into the network in a strictly defined amount. Its safety is confirmed by many years of international practice,” explained Sergey Guzhev, the technical director and chief engineer of the Perm Heating Networks.
Uranin-A meets all sanitary standards requirements. Its key feature is its ability to turn water a bright green color, which makes damage to pipelines visible and also helps identify unauthorized connections to the heating networks.
From the start of the inspection and throughout February, residents may notice a green tint in the water. In such a case, they should contact their property management company, the Heat Reference Service by phone at 259-39-98, or write to the email address uranin@tplusgroup.ru.
