Rostislav Zheleznov has already been featured in our publication. Together with him and his colleagues, we prepared a large photo project: over three days, we met with ordinary firefighters working in different cities of the Perm region, talked about their lives and experiences, and took many pictures of them.

Rostislav shares a practical fire safety tip in a humorous and clear manner.

Rostislav Zheleznov serves in the 63rd Fire and Rescue Unit in Gubakha. He became a firefighter at age 18, following in his grandfather’s footsteps. The young man does a lot of filming and photography of his workdays. He now shares his videos and photos about work on VKontakte (VK) in his blog «Firefighter from the Urals». Rostislav’s blog already has more than 127,000 subscribers.

«A guy with a fire in his heart. Life on duty and off duty,» reads the channel’s preface. «Follow updates and don’t hesitate to ask questions — we dare to peek into a world where every second counts.»

In his blog, Rostislav shows call-outs to fires, EMERCOM (Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations) exercises, and also gives fire safety advice in a very clear and even humorous way.

His video on how to extinguish a flame in a frying pan with boiling oil in seconds has collected 22 million views.

«If oil in a frying pan catches fire, under no circumstances extinguish it with water — this will only worsen the situation and the flame will flare up stronger,» Rostislav advises. «Carefully cover the pan with a lid to cut off the oxygen supply — the fire will go out quickly.»

Another video — about how Rostislav’s team went to extinguish a bathhouse — garnered 8.1 million views. «Took a trip to the bathhouse,» the firefighter captioned it briefly.

Apart from workdays, Rostislav occasionally shows his ordinary life: how he relaxes and travels. People enjoy watching the life of a simple firefighter, and a handsome one at that.

«For the first time in a long time, good, interesting, and most importantly kind content! Very positive, even though the service is dangerous and difficult,» writes subscriber Ulyana.

«Short, clear, cool!!! Awesome!» shared another subscriber, Tatyana.

«Many years to you, boys!» wished Liliya.

«Colleague, you’re handsome! Well done for showing our work not with cinematic special effects, but as it really is! To all firefighters — dry hoses!» wrote Vasily.

In 2021, Rostislav shared with us his photographs, featuring his colleagues. He took these photos throughout 2020 and had not published them before.

Earlier, in an interview with 59.RU, Rostislav explained why he shoots photos and videos of his work.

«I wanted to tell what a firefighter experiences besides physical strain,» shared Rostislav. «He also experiences great psychological stress, worries about his loved ones, and the shift commander worries about his comrades and the victims. When you go to a fire, you don’t know what awaits you. You put on your uniform, and you are already not like everyone else! All night you are in the very hell, working in an environment isolated from vision and breathing, and an hour later, after finishing your daily shift, you put on civilian clothes and you are again like everyone else. No one can understand what you had to go through today, what you saw with your own eyes. Take care of yourself and be kinder.»

Earlier, we reported that a fisherman blogger from Lysva collects thousands of views on Zen and social media, filming kind and educational videos about active family recreation and fishing.
