Another 26 small settlements in the Samara Region have been included in the «Eliminating the Digital Divide» program. They are located in the Chelno-Vershinsky, Bolsheglushitsky, Koshkinsky, Sergiyevsky, Krasnoyarsky, Kinel-Cherkassky, Volzhsky, Krasnoarmeisky, Shigonsky, Kamyshlinsky, Klyavlinsky, and Borsky districts. More than 8,000 people live there in total.

The program is being implemented by the regional Ministry of Digital Development together with Megafon. In particular, work has been completed in very small settlements. For example, the settlement of Kultura has fewer than 50 residents, while the settlements of Krivoye Ozero, Novotroyevka, Malaya Vyazovka, Domashkiny Vershiny, Petrovka, and Malorossiysky have up to 200 each. These parameters are dictated by the conditions of the federal «Eliminating the Digital Divide» project, which has been operating in Russia for over 10 years.

The operator«s network has also become available in picturesque corners of the region that are popular with tourists. Among them are the villages of Yelshanka and Lopatino, whose local reservoirs and beaches traditionally attract anglers and vacationers. Signal has also appeared in the village of Podgory, located in the eastern part of the »Samarskaya Luka« near the Belaya Gora (White Mountain). This place is visited by many people every year, with guests drawn to ancient churches, clean springs, and impressive trails in the national park.

Following the work, local residents and tourists can now watch videos online, communicate on messaging apps, work remotely, and automate household processes with smart home devices.

«Federal support makes a significant contribution to the work of reducing the digital divide between city and village. Today, connectivity in remote areas allows rural residents to lead an online life just as active as city dwellers. Statistics confirm this: in December, the average data traffic per customer in the region»s small settlements was 20% higher than in the city,« said Nikita Pikulnikov, the operator»s director in the Samara Region.
