Marina Kireyeva and Alexey Yeremin, deputy heads of the Dubovsky District administration suspected of fraud with school property, have been released. The investigation has petitioned the court to replace the officials« restraining measures with milder ones.

Recall that in January of last year, anonymous Telegram channels reported that law enforcement agencies were active in the Dubovsky District administration. According to the authors, the authorities were checking information that officials, including the head of the district«s education department Marina Kireyeva, had been forcing principals of rural schools for several years to buy equipment, furniture, and household items, but then all the property ended up not in classrooms but in the offices of the district administration. At that time, the schools in the villages of Malaya Ivanovka, Davydovka, Pryamaya Balka, Gornovodyanoye, and the stanitsa of Suvodskaya were involved.

On May 27, 2025, law enforcement officially confirmed the detention of the officials, having opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Russian Criminal Code, «Exceeding official powers by prior conspiracy for mercenary or other personal interest.» Marina Kireyeva was placed under house arrest, and Alexey Yeremin was sent to a pre-trial detention center (SIZO).

However, sources of the V1.RU editorial office reported that they had repeatedly seen Marina Kireyeva on the city streets and suggested that she might soon return to her previous job.

As Alexander Tyumentsev, deputy head of the united press service of the courts of the Volgograd region, told V1.RU, on December 24 last year, the Gorodishchensky District Court changed the restraining measures for both suspects.

«At the request of the deputy head of the Gorodishchensky Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Volgograd region, the restraining measure for Alexey Yeremin, which was detention, has been changed to a prohibition of certain actions. He was released from custody in the courtroom, Alexander Tyumentsev said. — Marina Kireyeva»s restraining measure was also changed from house arrest to a prohibition of certain actions.«

What does this prohibition mean? The court«s press service reported that the suspects cannot send or receive mail, use communication means and the internet, except for contacting the investigator. They are prohibited from communicating with participants in the criminal proceedings, except for the investigator, prosecutor, court staff, and defense attorney.

The press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Volgograd region reported that the criminal case is ongoing.
