The Volgograd Region Committee for Education and Science has officially denied information about a possible reorganization of the secondary school in the hamlet of Kletsko-Pochtovsky in the Serafimovich district. The statement was made after a meeting of local residents and the publication of a video address by a graduate of this educational institution who is participating in the special military operation.

Previously, the situation around the school attracted widespread attention. The graduate, who is in the special military operation zone, recorded an emotional appeal asking to preserve the educational institution.

«I have been in the special military operation for four years now. I am defending our Motherland in the hope of a better, brighter future for my children. And at the same time, in my small homeland, a real sabotage is taking place,» says the man in the recording. «The schools of the Serafimovich district, including the Kletsko-Pochtovsky secondary school where I studied, my wife studied, and our children are now studying, are planned to be reorganized. That is, to be merged with one school in Serafimovich. The district administration has repeatedly tried to do this before, but the residents of the hamlet defended the school»s right to be independent. We all know where such experiments with education lead. In the end, rural schools are closed to save the budget, without thinking about the people.«

In response to citizens« concerns, the education committee stated that the fears are unfounded. »According to the regional education committee, the school is operating in the same mode — with the same staff and teachers,« the department commented. »As explained by the district education department, the issue of reorganization is not currently under consideration.«
