Novosibirsk Weighs New Sobering-Up Station on Left Bank

Authorities in Novosibirsk are planning to open an additional sobering-up station due to high demand. More than 3,000 people used the existing facility last year.

Novosibirsk plans to open another sobering-up station. This was announced by the region«s Minister of Labor and Social Development, Elena Bakharеva.

«Due to the high demand for the services of the specialized center, the regional government and the Novosibirsk city administration are considering the possibility of creating another similar branch of the Municipal Budgetary Institution »City Comprehensive Social Service Center« (MBU »GKTSON«) on the left bank of the city,» clarified Elena Bakharеva.

In 2025, 3,022 people received assistance at the Novosibirsk sobering-up station. According to the city administration«s Department of Social Policy, the majority were men aged 36 to 59.

Previously, NGS reported how many people ended up in the Novosibirsk sobering-up station during the New Year holidays.
