Novosibirsk MFCs Begin Connecting Residents to Mobile Services

MFCs in Novosibirsk have begun connecting city residents to cellular services. A corresponding partnership agreement was signed between the Multifunctional Center of Novosibirsk Region and Megafon. Its goal is to reduce the time for subscribers to process contracts.

Initially, the project for connecting SIM cards in MFCs started in summer 2025 in Leningrad Region. Starting from June, the project«s geography expanded, including territories in Siberia and the Far East. Now the project is active in Altai Krai, Altai Republic, Tuva Republic, Tomsk and Irkutsk regions, Sakha Republic (Yakutia), and Khabarovsk Krai.

In Novosibirsk, connection can be made at city MFC branches on Truda Square, 1 and Zyryanovskaya Street, 63. Employees of the centers for state and municipal services have already undergone special training. Now city residents can simultaneously receive a state service and a SIM card without visiting a communication salon. The offer could be especially useful for foreigners — students, labor migrants, or tourists. In accordance with the current version of the «On Communications» law, since the beginning of last year, concluding contracts for cellular services with foreign citizens or stateless persons is carried out under new rules.

«Novosibirsk is a huge labor market for foreign citizens and a transit point for moving to other regions of the country. Moreover, there are dozens of educational institutions here that attract future students from Kazakhstan and China. According to statistics from the regional ministry of education, 3.37 thousand foreign students began the academic year in the capital of Siberia, which is 12.7% more than a year earlier. Our task is to create a positive experience, to show that moving and settling in a new place can be comfortable and quick,» said Dmitry Olovyannikov, the operator«s director in Novosibirsk Region.
