Novosibirsk City Hall Unveils 17 Concession Projects

Concession plans cover sports complexes, bathhouses, a cinema, and heat supply facilities.
The Novosibirsk city administration has published a list of objects planned for construction or reconstruction under concession agreements. Among them are sports complexes, bathhouses, a cinema, and others.
The document lists 17 structures in total. Among the future concessions is the construction of a sports complex at 12/2 Respublikanskaya Street. The site is planned to house a building with a 25-meter swimming pool, a sports hall, and an indoor ice rink. Currently, the site contains an unfinished building of the Chkalovets stadium grandstand.
A sports complex for team sports and martial arts will also be built at 61/1 Uchitelskaya Street. The site already has a stadium building built 69 years ago. The concessionaire will have to reconstruct it and build a new one.
A ski resort is planned for development in the Kirovsky district near Lake Blyudtse. Currently, there are temporary facilities for equipment and changing rooms for sports school students. A sports facility for wrestling and judo will appear near 9 Odoevskogo Street.
A center for technical sports with tracks for autocross, motocross, drifting, and other competitions is planned to be built on a plot near 190a Vybornaya Street. The complex should also include a 50-meter swimming pool, an indoor athletics arena with circular and straight tracks, and sectors for long jump, high jump, and pole vault.
The administration plans to place a complex with a judo center on Nikolaya Sotnikova Street, a sports complex with a football field at 2 Anikina Street, and on the site of a hockey rink near the Zarya sports center in the Kirovsky district, a center with an indoor ice rink is planned.
At 5 Timiryazeva Street, the city plans to build a skiing center with an illuminated year-round ski roller and cross-country track, a 25-meter swimming pool, and an indoor ice rink. Currently, the site has a ski base built 48 years ago.
The Dolphin swimming pool at 26a Flotskaya Street is also planned for reconstruction. Currently, the site has a building built 51 years ago. At 14/1 Engelsa Street, a canteen may be reconstructed into a physical education and sports center. At 2 Chasovaya Street, a sports complex with a 25-meter pool and a hall for rhythmic gymnastics will appear. Also to be reconstructed is a sports facility — an extension to a house at 2 Lesosechnaya Street.
At 1 Sportivnaya Street, a bathhouse for 150–200 people is planned. A new bathhouse building is also to be built on the site of a long-term construction at 15a Polyarnaya Street, whose completion rate is estimated at 34%.
In the Obges microdistrict, authorities want to reconstruct a cinema into the Mayak youth center at 1a Russkaya Street.
The last item on the list is heat supply facilities. Exact addresses are not given, but it is noted that structures with a total area of 9,400 square meters are planned for construction or reconstruction.
Concessions are not new for Novosibirsk. For example, bathhouse concessions led to high-profile criminal cases and changed the fates of major regional officials.
