Novoselki waste processing plant in Levashovo to launch in January 2027

The Novoselki waste processing complex in Levashovo is set to launch in January 2027, a year ahead of the original schedule.

The intention to launch the facility ahead of schedule was announced at a TASS press conference on January 22 by Kirill Soloveichik, chairman of the Committee for Nature Use.
The Novoselki plant«s capacity will be 600 thousand tons of waste per year, of which 360 thousand tons will be sent for recycling.
After the full launch of this complex, together with the Volkhonka and Ostrovsky waste processing facilities, the system will be able to process 100% of Saint Petersburg«s municipal solid waste.
The architectural project for the enterprise has already been approved. The contract for design, construction, and equipment is valued at 14 billion rubles (approximately $160 million at current rates). The complex will be located in Levashovo, next to a closed landfill of the same name.
