'Not all work completed': Park to be built at Tolmachevo Airport square by 2026

A park zone will be developed on the square in front of Tolmachevo Airport in Novosibirsk. This was announced by representatives of the Novaport network at a press conference in the TASS agency.

In autumn 2025, partial improvement of the territory on the square in front of the airport was completed. A year ago, NGS wrote that a hotel building from the 1960s is being demolished on the airport territory.

“Part of the heavy work to remove concrete structures and foundation remnants from the territory was done in autumn, but due to weather conditions, not everything was completed in time. The work has been contracted. The contractor will start as soon as the snow melts. There will be a park zone,” said the general director of the holding, Konstantin Furyaev.

The new park is planned to be opened in summer 2026.

Plans for the airport to demolish buildings became known in summer 2023. At that time, Tolmachevo posted a lot for the demolition of the structure on the public procurement website, ready to pay almost 47.5 million rubles (about $528,000 at current rates) for the work. The winner was a company that offered to demolish the building for 6.4 million rubles (about $71,000 at current rates).
