Northern Volgograd Residents Hit by Week-Long Water Shutoffs
In the north of Volgograd, in the neighborhood on Degtyareva and Dzerzhinsky streets, residents of several apartment buildings have been without cold water supply for five days.
According to them, due to the specifics of the system, this also deprives them of hot water, creating serious domestic difficulties.
«How long will they ignore the fact that there has been no water at Degtyareva St., 39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 51 and Dzerzhinsky St., 38, 42 for five days?!» one local resident exclaims. «»Water Supply Concessions« are doing nothing and not even trying. There is complete ignorance from the authorities, nowhere is there even information about the causes and timelines, and we have gas columns. That is, we essentially have neither hot nor cold water, we can»t even bathe the children. No water delivery is being arranged either.«
The management company LLC «UK TZR», which services these buildings, denied information about large-scale shutoffs.
Director of the management company Tatyana Pershina explained: «Cold water shutoffs can only occur during the installation of building-wide metering devices, and only for a few hours. According to the readings of building-wide metering devices in all the mentioned houses, except for addresses Dzerzhinsky 38, 42, and Degtyareva, 39 and 51, where building-wide meters are not installed, water supply is present and has not been interrupted.»
The press service of «Water Supply Concessions» also stated that there are no prolonged shutoffs, clarifying that today from 10:30 at Degtyareva St., 51, water supply was suspended due to damage to the in-building networks, which the management company is fixing.
«For this reason, water supply is also absent at Dzerzhinsky St., 42. Yesterday at Degtyareva St., 51, there was a brief cold water shutoff from 15:00 to 17:20 for network inspection. No further shutoffs were conducted,» the organization reported.
