No School Reorganization in Volgograd Hamlet, Officials Say

The school in Kletsko-Pochtovsky hamlet continues to operate with its current staff, according to authorities.
The Education and Science Committee of Volgograd Oblast has refuted information about the upcoming reorganization of a school in the hamlet of Kletsko-Pochtovsky, Serafimovichsky District, Volgograd Oblast. Officials made this statement after a meeting with residents and a video address by a participant in the special military operation who graduated from this educational institution.
Recall that the situation around the school in the hamlet of Kletsko-Pochtovsky became known the day before. One of its graduates, who is in the zone of the special military operation, even recorded a video address with a request to preserve the educational institution:
«I have been in the special military operation for four years now. I am defending our Motherland in the hope of a better, brighter future for my children. And at the same time, a real sabotage is happening in my small homeland,» the man says in the recording. «The schools of Serafimovichsky District, including Kletsko-Pochtovskaya Secondary School, where I studied, my wife studied, and our children are now studying, are planned to be reorganized. That is, to be merged into one Serafimovichskaya school. The district administration has repeatedly tried to do this before, but the residents of the hamlet defended the school»s right to be independent. We all know what such experiments with education lead to. Rural schools end up being closed to save budget, without thinking about people.«
The education committee stated that the residents« fears are groundless — no one will touch the school:
«According to the information from the regional education committee, the school is operating in the same mode — with the same staff and teachers,» the department commented. «As explained in the district education department, the issue of reorganization is not currently under consideration.»
