Nizhny Novgorod Region has provided assistance to Kamchatka Krai by sending special equipment to deal with the aftermath of abnormal snowfalls. These are powerful tracked vehicles that will be used for rescue operations and to help local residents.
Tracked equipment from Nizhny Novgorod Region has arrived in the Far East to assist in rescue operations.
All the equipment was delivered to the Far East by two Il-76 military transport aircraft.
In Kamchatka, a severe situation has developed due to a series of cyclones. Snowdrifts reach the height of three-story buildings, visibility is zero, and the blizzard does not stop. A state of emergency has been declared in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Casualties have been reported, and schools have switched to distance learning.
Earlier, during the New Year holidays, Hurricane Francis hit Moscow and neighboring regions, causing a snowstorm. This led to disruptions at airports and massive traffic jams on highways.
