Nizhny Novgorod Region Dispatches Snowfighting Equipment to Kamchatka

The Nizhny Novgorod region has sent specialized equipment to Kamchatka Krai to assist with the aftermath of heavy snowfalls, delivering it via two Il-76 aircraft.

The Nizhny Novgorod region has directed specialized equipment to assist Kamchatka Krai in dealing with the aftermath of heavy snowfalls. Our region delivered powerful tracked vehicles to the Far East, according to the regional EMERCOM.

Powerful tracked vehicles were airlifted to the Far East to support disaster response efforts.

The equipment is intended for conducting rescue operations and providing support to residents in the disaster zone. The entire cargo was delivered using two Il-76 aircraft.

The consequences of a series of cyclones for Kamchatka Krai have been severe. In the Far East, snowdrifts are as high as three-story buildings, with zero visibility and an unceasing blizzard. In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a municipal-level state of emergency is in effect. There have been casualties. Schools and other institutions have switched to remote operation.

And during the New Year holidays, Moscow and several neighboring regions were hit by Hurricane Francis. Due to the snowstorm, airports experienced a real collapse, and on highways, hundreds of drivers got stuck.
