Nizhny Novgorod Mayor Orders Evacuation of Parked Cars

On the afternoon of January 29, Mayor of Nizhny Novgorod Yuri Shalabayev was inspecting roads and encountered this scene: on Bolshaya Pecherskaya Street, a tram had stopped due to illegally parked cars.
“There have been so many such incidents, but some people still haven«t learned. In such severe weather conditions, to make things even worse by themselves is, to put it mildly, irresponsible,” the city head wrote in his Telegram channel.
Authorities called a tow truck, and three “obstacles,” as Shalabayev called them, were removed from the street. Tram route No. 2 service was restored.
The mayor noted that today in Nizhny Novgorod is the snowiest day: more than 25 centimeters (about 10 inches) of snow could fall. Despite rush hour being over, severe traffic jams persist in the city. The day before, authorities stated that municipal employees, district administration staff, and students have joined the snow removal efforts.
Earlier, we showed the evacuation of cars on Boris Panin Street in Nizhny Novgorod. They were hindering snowplow operations.
