New tender for Sailors' Club reconstruction to be announced within a year

A new tender to find a contractor to continue the reconstruction of the Sailors« Club will be announced within a year, likely in the first half. The project and work plan will remain unchanged, VLADIVOSTOK1.RU was told by the Vladivostok city hall.

Recently, the Primorye Court of Appeal finally ruled the contract between LLC «Amkon-DV» and the Vladivostok administration invalid. The contractor will also have to return an advance of 292.7 million rubles (about $3.25 million at current rates).

The reconstruction began in 2024, with a creative industries center being built on the site of the old building. In autumn 2025, violations were found in the contract, particularly that the contractor did not have enough experience in such projects and that the documentation contained a number of shortcomings and violations. Construction then stalled. «Amkon-DV» filed several appeals against the court decision, but at the time of publication, their views on the situation could not be ascertained.

The Sailors« Club building was constructed in 1947. Its total area is over 4,000 square meters. It is located on Tsesarevich Embankment and houses several art studios, an art gallery, and various dance studios. The club once served as Vladivostok»s main concert venue.
