New telecom equipment from MegaFon has been installed on the territory of a large ski resort in Krasnoyarsk Krai. This was necessary due to high network load: in winter, the resort is popular among sports enthusiasts and active leisure lovers. There are slopes of varying difficulty for adults and children, and amateur and professional competitions are regularly held.

Previously, the resort was served by a base station located on the lower tier of the ski complex, but due to the terrain, it could not provide full 4G coverage. The new telecom facility, operating in low and medium frequency bands, was installed on the mountain peak. Now, connectivity is available on the slopes and cable car, in cafes, equipment rental areas, and administrative premises. Also within the coverage area are observation decks and part of tourist routes in a large national park.

— «Bobrovy Log» is a popular recreation spot not only for Krasnoyarsk residents but also for city guests. This winter, its slopes were visited by residents of the capital region, Irkutsk Oblast, Saint Petersburg, Yakutia, and Buryatia. In December, tourists from the farthest corners of our country — Kaliningrad and Sakhalin Oblasts — were here. People don«t just ski here; they spend time with the whole family, compete, learn new tricks, and enjoy their leisure. Our task is to ensure that digital capabilities keep pace with the growing popularity of the resort and make recreation even more enriching, — commented Andrei Kim, director of the operator in Krasnoyarsk Krai.

Now, visitors to the ski resort can conduct live broadcasts and streams, communicate in messengers, make VoLTE calls, watch videos about safe snowboarding or skiing, upload photos and videos to social networks, and share their sports victories with friends. According to measurements, the data transfer speed in the coverage area of the new base station is up to 60 Mbps.

According to operator analysts, during the New Year holidays, visitors to the ski slope consumed almost 2 TB of online data, which is comparable to transmitting over half a million photos.
