The new batch of documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case has raised more questions than answers. Among the millions of pages is the name of Hollywood star George Clooney.

In correspondence released as part of this trove, British politician Lord Peter Mandelson asks Epstein: «Can I get a muse like George Clooney too? What about George Clooney himself?» A previous message from Epstein stated: «In your position it should be George Clooney.»

The letters were sent on January 16, 2010, two years after Epstein was convicted in Florida on charges related to child prostitution. There is no indication in the documents that Clooney actually received a «muse» from Epstein«s circle.

The documents also reveal financial ties. According to bank statements, Epstein transferred $75,000 to accounts linked to Mandelson. In a separate instance in 2009, he personally sent $10,000 to the politician«s husband, Reinaldo Avila da Silve, to pay for osteopathy courses and other expenses.

The correspondence also points to attempts at political influence. While serving as Britain«s business minister, Mandelson, at Epstein»s request, «tried very hard» to change government policy on banker bonuses and even suggested that the head of an international bank «threaten» the British chancellor.

Mandelson«s name appears in the documents nearly six thousand times. These revelations have increased pressure on the British prime minister to strip the politician of his seat in the House of Lords. Mandelson was fired from his position as ambassador to the United States in September after his correspondence with Epstein became public, including a message in which he advised the pedophile to »fight for early release«.

Mandelson himself states that he does not remember and has no records of receiving any payments, and questions the authenticity of the documents. He consistently denies any sexual misconduct or knowledge of Epstein«s crimes.

The files also feature former Prince Andrew. In an email dated December 24, 2002, he asks Epstein«s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell about the meaning of the phrase »sticky palm« used by a mutual acquaintance when describing intimacy with a certain »George K.«

Clooney attended the London premiere of his directorial debut in December 2002, but it is unclear whether it is him being referred to. Prince Andrew was stripped of his royal titles in October last year due to his ties with Epstein, and, according to media reports, is now considering fleeing the UK amid the new revelations.
