New drones monitor Kurgan forests for fires, logging, landfills

The drones were purchased under a national project to enhance forest monitoring capabilities.
The situation in the Kurgan forests will be monitored with the help of new drones. Three new unmanned aerial vehicles of the «Geoscan 801» model will be transferred to the Kurgan Forest Fire Center.

The department shared this image to highlight efforts in combating environmental threats in the region.
The drones are equipped with advanced equipment: they conduct photo and video shooting in difficult weather conditions to promptly identify fire sources, track fire dynamics, record forest logging and waste storage, according to the Department of Civil Protection of the Trans-Ural region.
Earlier, the department purchased 10 unmanned aerial vehicles, with about 15 million rubles (approximately $150,000 at current rates) allocated from the federal budget for this. In this way, they plan to protect the nature of the Trans-Ural region.
