4G coverage is being expanded in Novosibirsk Oblast. New base stations have been installed in Karasuk District. The changes affect the villages of Kalinovka, Blagodatnoye, Yagodny, Chernokurye, and Sorochikha.

The work was carried out by engineers from Megafon. As a result, all five villages have gained access to telecom services and the operator«s digital capabilities for the first time. Voice communication and mobile internet at speeds of up to 60 Mbps were provided by utilizing second- and fourth-generation networks, as well as low- and mid-frequency LTE bands — they have a large coverage radius and can overcome obstacles, such as hills or forested areas.

‘The internet serves as an assistant in work without being tied to a place or time; with the help of the Network, we get news, educational materials, and can quickly organize leisure. New telecom equipment in rural areas is not just construction. Behind each base station, we see subscribers with their concerns and joys and hope that we can help them,’ said Dmitry Olovyannikov, the company«s director in Novosibirsk Oblast.

The new telecom infrastructure has allowed local residents to use VoLTE technology. With it, one can simultaneously use mobile internet and make calls. As a result, in the first weeks of the year, 73% of voice calls were made via the internet.
