New Base Station Enhances Connectivity in Nizhny Novgorod Village

New telecom equipment has been launched in the village of Kochetovka, Sechenovsky Municipal District, Nizhny Novgorod Region. The settlement, home to over 600 people, now has access to Megafon«s fourth-generation communication. Importantly, the base station»s signal is available on the R162 highway.
The Rabotki–Poretskoye highway, about 180 kilometers (112 miles) long, connects the Nizhny Novgorod Region with the Chuvash Republic. Traffic intensity on the route ranges from 30,000 to 50,000 vehicles per day. Now, passing by Kochetovka, located 150 kilometers (93 miles) from Nizhny Novgorod and 170 kilometers (106 miles) from the capital of Chuvashia, drivers and passengers enter the communication signal zone and gain access to digital services.
Alexander Sinelobov, Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, noted that the base station was built under the investment tax deduction program. It was adopted on the initiative of the Nizhny Novgorod government to develop communication infrastructure and expand internet access.
«The essence of the program is that operators willing to develop cellular communication in small settlements get 90% of their profit tax refunded. We are glad to see that the support measure is working and truly stimulates operators to expand their coverage network,» said Alexander Sinelobov.
«Mobile internet on the road is an important safety element. And for entrepreneurs doing business with a neighboring region, it also saves time — negotiations can be held and online documents worked on while traveling. Moreover, due to the new telecom facility in the village adjacent to the highway, mobile internet speed has increased by about 30%, according to measurements, averaging 60 Mbps. This means local residents have more opportunities for remote work, study, and business,» commented Alexey Mikhailov, director of the operator in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The investment tax deduction program, adopted on the initiative of the Nizhny Novgorod Region government and aimed at developing communication infrastructure and expanding internet access, is one of the main tasks of the national project «Digital Economy».
