In late February, schoolchildren go on winter holidays, and according to data from the Avito Travel service, Murmansk Oblast remains one of the most popular destinations for vacations in northwestern Russia.
In the ranking of regions by number of bookings for the February 2025 holidays, Murmansk Oblast takes 4th place, maintaining its position compared to last year.
The leader in popularity is Moscow Oblast, followed by Leningrad Oblast, with Krasnodar Krai rounding out the top three. Meanwhile, Murmansk Oblast shows steady tourist interest: schoolchildren and their families choose northern cities for short winter trips.
The average cost of renting a daily apartment in Murmansk Oblast during the holiday period is about 3,600–3,700 rubles ($40–$41 at current rates), and for country houses it is about 11,000 rubles ($122) per night. Experts note that the average booking duration for apartments remains at 4 nights, for country houses at 3 nights, with travelers staying in groups of three in apartments and an average of five people in country properties.
