Hall of Famer Warren Moon made it clear whom he sees as the starting quarterback in the Super Bowl — Sam Darnold of the Seattle Seahawks, not Drake Maye. According to media reports, Moon believes Darnold is currently at the peak of his form, and the main reason to trust him on the big stage is his successful last season.

Sam Darnold of the Seattle Seahawks is praised for his improved decision-making and accuracy.

Moon notes that Darnold passes confidently, hits tight windows, and, most importantly, takes care of the ball. «He does it with his arm, runs when necessary, and now makes the right decisions,» Moon said. «I think that will continue in the Super Bowl.»
According to Moon, this play is a huge improvement compared to the early years of Darnold«s career, when turnovers and erratic decisions held him back. He did not soften his criticism of that period. «If you end up in the wrong situation, not the right environment, the start of your career can be tough,» Moon explained. «I think that»s what happened with the New York Jets, an organization that remains dysfunctional.»
As for Drake Maye of the New England Patriots, Moon does not completely write him off. He said that quarterback did not look confident in his passes in the playoffs, especially due to battling an injury and difficult weather conditions. Moon acknowledged that Maye used his legs to move the team — for example, in the snowy game in Denver — but noted that his passing was not as dangerous.
In the end, Moon believes Darnold is peaking at just the right moment. And if his successful streak continues, he could become the hero of the Super Bowl.
