Mobile Internet Disruptions in St. Petersburg for Second Day

For the second day in a row, on January 27, disruptions in mobile internet operation have been noted in various districts of St. Petersburg. This is reported by both readers of the publication and the monitoring service Downdetector.

The problems affect subscribers of the largest telecom operators, including Beeline, MTS, and T-Mobile. One user described the situation: «Typically, it shows 4G, full signal, but in fact, nothing loads. By the way, last evening, Gosuslugi (the Russian government services portal) did not open.» Meanwhile, resources from so-called «white lists» usually remain accessible.
The disruptions began the day before, when many people«s websites and messengers stopped opening. The city administration (in Smolny) confirmed the possibility of such shutdowns, explaining that they are a forced measure in the interests of security.
City authorities advised residents to use the free Wi-Fi «SPB_FREE» to access the internet. A map with access points for this network can be found in open sources.
