Ministry Recommends 2026 Spring Break Dates for Schools
Russia's Ministry of Education has recommended holding spring school holidays from 28 March to 5 April 2026. Minister Sergei Kravtsov announced the proposed dates.

The Russian Ministry of Education has proposed that educational institutions schedule spring break for the period from 28 March to 5 April 2026. The head of the department, Sergei Kravtsov, made the corresponding statement on 3 February, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“General education institutions are recommended to hold spring holidays in the period from 28 March to 5 April 2026,” the minister said.
Prior to this, schoolchildren were on winter break, which lasted from 31 December 2025 to 11 January 2026.
Furthermore, at the beginning of March, students will have a three-day weekend from the 7th to the 9th. This is because International Women«s Day on 8 March 2026 falls on a Sunday, and the day off is moved to Monday, 9 March.
