Ministry of Defense Reports Drone Downed Over Volgograd Region

The Russian Ministry of Defense has stated that one of 75 Ukrainian drones shot down overnight was neutralized over the Volgograd region.

During the past night, duty air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 75 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of the airplane type,

24 UAVs — over the territory of Krasnodar Krai, 23 UAVs — over the territory of the Republic of Crimea, 6 UAVs — over the Black Sea, 5 UAVs — over the territory of Belgorod Oblast, 4 UAVs — over the territory of Astrakhan Oblast, 3 UAVs — over the territory of Kursk Oblast, 3 UAVs — over the Azov Sea, 2 UAVs — over the territory of Voronezh Oblast, 2 UAVs — over the territory of Bryansk Oblast, 1 UAV — over the territory of Rostov Oblast, 1 UAV — over the territory of Tambov Oblast, 1 UAV — over the territory of Volgograd Oblast.

At the time of preparing this report, flight restrictions introduced by Rosaviatsia (the Federal Air Transport Agency) on the evening of 27 January remain in effect at Volgograd airport. According to the online departure board, the Pobeda airline flight from Moscow, which was supposed to arrive in Volgograd the previous evening, diverted to a reserve airfield in Saratov and is expected at Gumrak (Volgograd«s airport) on the morning of 28 January. A charter flight by Egypt»s AlMasria Universal Airlines from Sharm el-Sheikh is also delayed, and morning flights of Pobeda and Aeroflot from Moscow are held up.
