MegaFon Launches Network at Takman Ski Resort in Perm Krai

Voice and mobile internet services from MegaFon have been launched at the Takman ski resort in Perm Krai. After the work was completed, the signal is now available on lifts, slopes, freeride zones, as well as in cafes and parking lots. Now resort guests can post photos from the slopes on social networks, conduct live streams from the summit, and make video calls. Voice communication also works both at the base and at the mountain top.

Analysts have calculated that since the start of the winter season, guests of ski resorts in Perm Krai have used over 13 TB of data and spoken for over 100,000 minutes. The highest load on base stations occurred during the New Year holidays—from January 4 to 6 and the third weekend of January. Besides Perm residents, on the slopes one can find people from the two capitals, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, and Samara Oblast.

«We are upgrading the network at tourist and sports facilities, ski resorts, so that Perm residents and visitors to the region can quickly contact loved ones, share emotions after skiing or impressions from natural attractions. In recreational areas, having a connection is not only a matter of convenience but also an important aspect of safety. According to measurements, data transfer speeds at the resort reach up to 150 Mbps,» commented Andrey Shmalev, director of the operator in Perm Krai.

The Takman ski resort is located near the city of Chusovoy, about 140 kilometers from Perm. Despite its remoteness from the regional center, riders are attracted by the large snowpark, freeride zones, and 11 slopes of varying difficulty. Both beginners and experienced riders come here to ski.

Previously, the operator«s connection was launched at the Gubakha resort and on the territory of sports facilities at the federal center Snezhnika.
