Residents of Medvedev Khutor in the Ilovlinsky district of the Volgograd region have appealed for help because their homes have become cold due to heating problems.

According to a local resident, the heating fluid stopped flowing in full about a week ago when one of the two boilers serving 13 two-story houses broke down.

«Our boilers aren»t good,« a local resident says. »There are constant interruptions, there«s only a little bit of heating. The boilers are large, they work at full capacity, but they can»t cope. One had a sensor break, now they seem to have brought a new one, they are installing it. But even then, when the master will come, when he will install everything—who knows? And the apartment has been lacking heat for about a month. The administration ignored everyone. Now the prosecutor«s office seems to have taken up the matter. But I doubt they»ll do anything.«

Alexander Grebnev, head of the Medvedevskoye rural settlement, confirmed the malfunctions but stated they have been fixed: «The problem wasn»t only with the sensor,« explains Alexander Grebnev. »The sensor was delivered, put in place, installed. The problem was in the boiler control software. Adjusters came and fixed it. At two o«clock one boiler was working, and when the second one was diagnosed, they started both.»

In recent days, abnormal frosts have caused numerous problems in the Volgograd region:

  • pregnant women complained about the cold in the maternity clinic;
  • mass events were canceled due to low temperatures;
  • college students and public transport passengers suffered from the cold;
  • schools shortened lesson durations.

However, meteorologists forecast that a warming trend will soon come to the region.
