Mayor of Nizhny Novgorod Orders Evacuation of Obstructive Cars

During a road inspection on the afternoon of January 29, Nizhny Novgorod Mayor Yuri Shalabayev found that a tram was blocked on Bolshaya Pecherskaya Street due to illegally parked cars.
In his Telegram channel, the mayor wrote: «There have been so many such incidents, but some people still don»t get it. In such severe weather conditions, to make things worse themselves is, to put it mildly, irresponsible.«
At the mayor«s instruction, authorities called a tow truck, which removed three cars — Shalabayev called them »obstacles.« After that, tram route No. 2 was restored.
Shalabayev noted that Nizhny Novgorod is expecting a record amount of snow — more than 25 centimeters (about 9.8 inches). Although rush hour has passed, the city still has traffic jams with an intensity of seven points. The day before, municipal employees, district administration staff, and students joined the snow removal efforts.
Earlier, on Boris Panin Street, cars that were obstructing snowplow operations were also towed.
