Marjorie Taylor Greene Labels MAGA a Lie Post-Resignation

Marjorie Taylor Greene caused a political sensation in a new interview after resigning as a congresswoman. According to media reports, she criticized the MAGA movement and former President Donald Trump, calling it all a «big lie.»

In a conversation with political commentator Kim Iversen on January 29, Greene stated that MAGA is a deception for ordinary people. According to her, the movement now serves major donors who donate money to Trump«s funds and receive special privileges, government contracts, and pardons in return.

She also claims that real power lies with foreign states and large corporations, and MAGA actually works in their interests, not for America.

Greene accused the former president of paying more attention to events in Iran than to problems in the U.S. «We practically have a civil war in Minnesota, shouldn»t we be worried about that?« she questioned.

The former congresswoman also stated that Trump is obsessed with Israel and indifferent to the deaths of civilians in Gaza. In her opinion, the war is being waged in Israel«s interests, and the killings of thousands of innocent people allow for the launch of new construction projects and enrichment from the »New Gaza.«
She compared the situation to an episode from the cartoon series «Scooby-Doo,» where the villain«s mask is torn off. »The mask is off, and «Make America Great Again» is not really about America or the American people,« Greene said.
When asked how Trump, in her opinion, ended up in such a situation and became the «leader of the swamp,» Greene admitted that she herself wonders about it. She noted that she knows the president personally and has worked with him for years, but cannot understand who influences him. «People always blame his entourage, but perhaps it»s time to admit that it«s Donald Trump himself,» she suggested.
Greene also hinted that the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, might have influenced Trump«s decisions, but did not elaborate on the topic.
Greene«s resignation as a congresswoman in January 2026 was not a complete surprise. As media reports, she planned a »carefully crafted exit« after a conflict with Trump and Republican leadership.
