Maps Show Stores, Warming Centers, and Field Kitchens for Murmansk Residents

On the evening of January 23, a mass power supply failure occurred in Murmansk and Severomorsk due to the collapse of power line supports. Recall that a state of heightened readiness was introduced in the Murmansk region due to the power outage. This decision was made at a meeting of the operational headquarters. Street lighting in Murmansk was temporarily turned off illumination.

The press service of «Rosseti North-West» reported that the cause of the outage was a technological failure on an overhead power line. Later it became known that 5 supports collapsed. Trolleybuses in Murmansk changed their routes.

The prosecutor«s office of the Murmansk region has already launched an investigation due to the mass power outages. A criminal case has been initiated, and in the Leninsky district, rotational power outages have been introduced.

Murmansk residents were told where they can go to warm up and charge electronic devices. And city entrepreneurs are ready to provide food from their main menu at a discount.

The consequences of the accident continue to be eliminated, «Rosseti North-West» brought additional snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles to the emergency site, the first supports have already been delivered to the Arctic region from Karelia. Meanwhile, in the region, there are communication disruptions. Major city hotels have already joined in helping residents: in them, one can charge devices and eat at a discount.
