Deputy Head of Magnitogorsk Anton Khvatkov resigned from the city administration one and a half years after his appointment. The information was confirmed to an MGORSK.RU correspondent at the mayor«s office on Thursday, January 22.

Khvatkov was appointed deputy mayor for municipal services and transport in June 2024. Prior to that, he headed the municipal capital construction department.

Anton Khvatkov replaced vice-mayor and Atlanta Olympics participant Sergey Igumenov, who submitted a resignation letter due to health reasons in the summer of 2024.

It should be noted that this is not the first dismissal of officials from the administration recently. In November 2025, six months after taking office, the head of the transport and municipal services department Roman Rodionov resigned. Following the chief transport official, the head of the physical culture and sports department Andrey Nesterov left the mayor«s office. He resigned of his own accord, after working for a year.
