A queue has formed outside Arena.2000 in Yaroslavl. The reason is that today, January 25, a concert by the band Leningrad (18+) is taking place here.
Leningrad is a Russian rock band founded in 1997 in St. Petersburg by musician Sergey Shnurov. The group gained popularity in the early 2000s due to its daring style, combining ska, punk, and rock and roll, as well as provocative lyrics. The band became widely known for hits such as «WWW», «When There»s No Money«, »My Name is Shnur«, »Exhibit«, »In Petersburg – Drink«, »Cabriolet«, and many others.
In addition to his music career, Sergey Shnurov has explored politics. In 2020, he joined the «Party of Growth», but later stated that he does not intend to run for deputy.
Moreover, since 2019, Shnurov has been a member of the Public Council under the State Duma Committee on Culture. This is an advisory body that helps the committee work on cultural agenda issues, but does not make him a deputy or grant parliamentary powers.
The concert was scheduled to start at 19:00, but at that time, there was still a queue outside. Almost all tickets have been sold out, with only 49 seats remaining.
It is still possible to buy a ticket for the concert. However, prices have become much higher than a month ago. A ticket with a seat can now be purchased for 5.5–7.5 thousand rubles (approximately $79–$107 at current rates). The dance floor costs 8.5 thousand rubles (about $121 at current rates). In December, prices were lower — from 4.7 to 10 thousand rubles (approximately $67–$143 at current rates). A spot on the dance floor cost 5.6 thousand rubles (about $80 at current rates). Slightly cheaper are seated places in remote sectors.
