An investigator from the Lipetsk City Police Department’s Division No. 7 (UMVD Rossii po Lipetsku) has opened a criminal case against a 40-year-old local resident. The man is charged under Part 3 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which covers the forgery, production, or circulation of fake documents, state awards, stamps, seals, or forms.
The incident occurred on January 22 on Belana Street. A traffic police officer stopped the man’s car. The driver’s license he presented raised suspicions, so he was taken to the police station for verification. The Forensic Expert Center of the Lipetsk Regional Police Department (UMVD po Lipetskoi oblasti) examined the document. According to the report, the seized license does not match official samples and is a forgery in terms of manufacturing technology. The article carries a penalty of up to one year in prison.
