A group of proactive residents of Lesezavodsk are once again raising the issue of the resignation of district head Konstantin Bantseev; this time they have submitted their demands to the local Duma. The district administration explained that they are aware of the situation, but, according to deputies, the residents themselves have not approached the administration with their statements.

According to activists, they managed to collect 1,600 signatures from those who wanted to support the idea of removing Bantseev from his position. However, the administration noted that they consider this format of gathering public opinion to be incorrect. An objective assessment would be if residents were offered to vote with answer options and express, among other things, positive feedback. The district has a total population of 39,000 people.

«If we had received a direct appeal with demands to fix something or pointing out specific aspects, we would have worked on it. The administration also wants citizens to be comfortable, and we strive to improve the quality of life. Not everything can be done at once due to limited funds. For example, they have complaints about buses—but our municipal enterprise has been operating for only a year, and there are many nuances we must adhere to. If buses weren»t running at all, that would be a different conversation. They also note the new bus stops, that they don«t like them; we would like to install heated ones, but for now, we updated with what funds allowed, because the old ones were completely unsuitable,» explained the apparatus of the Lesezavodsk District Administration.

He added that deputies will likely make an inquiry to the administration based on the citizens« appeal, and specialists will certainly respond to questions within their competence. However, electing a new head using the methods employed by the initiative group is not possible.

On the signature sheets, there are only signatures and surnames, lacking passport data and other identifiers for citizens. Such a document cannot be considered official. But, according to the initiative group, which includes three people—residents of the district from various settlements in Lesezavodsk District, they plan to convey their demand to the governor of Primorye, Oleg Kozhemyako, as well as to President Vladimir Putin.

As part of the appeal, residents of the municipality prepared a presentation and a document indicating that Bantseev has committed numerous serious violations, significantly worsening living conditions and reducing public trust in the authorities. All these cases pertain to 2023 and 2024.
