The largest boiler houses in Nakhodka will abandon fuel oil and coal and switch to gas by the 2028/2029 heating season. This was announced by city mayor Timur Maginsky during the program «Direct Conversation» (6+) with Governor Oleg Kozhemyako.

The discussion was prompted by repeated complaints from Nakhodka residents about heating supply issues. According to the authorities, switching to gas will help solve this problem, and work is already underway. Maginsky also held a working meeting with Alexei Pershin, the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Primorye, and representatives of the city«s largest boiler houses.

«The pipeline has already entered the Nakhodka city district. A gas distribution station is now being built at the entrance to the city, in the area of Perevalnaya Street. All large boiler houses that run on fuel oil and coal have been included in the gasification scheme,» said Maginsky.

The construction of the gas distribution station is being handled by the Moscow-based company Stroyproektgroup, with completion planned for 2026–2027. Another year will be needed for testing the new system.

In response, Oleg Kozhemyako emphasized that it would be desirable to convert at least 1–2 boiler houses to gas by 2027–2028 so that residents can see the changes.

«Inform the public about how the construction is progressing, what will be done, and what work is being carried out. This is important for the people, it is important for the development of Nakhodka, keep the work under control,» said the governor.

Summing up, Maginsky clarified that specialists have been replacing emergency networks over the past two years with the support of the regional government. For this, 300 million rubles (approximately $3.3 million at current rates) have been allocated from the budget to the Nakhodka city district, and Primteploenergo is providing at least another 100 million rubles (approximately $1.1 million) as part of its investment projects.
