LaMonte McLemore, founder of the vocal group The 5th Dimension, has died at age 90. He passed away peacefully at his home in Las Vegas.

He died peacefully at his home in Las Vegas surrounded by family and friends. The cause of death was not disclosed.
The 5th Dimension won six Grammy Awards under McLemore«s leadership.

McLemore was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Navy as an aerial photographer, then tried professional baseball before dedicating himself fully to photography.
The original lineup of The 5th Dimension was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1991.

In the mid-1960s, during a photo shoot for a beauty contest, he met Marilyn McCoo and Florence LaRue. Together with Billy Davis Jr. and Ron Townson, they founded The 5th Dimension in 1965.
The group achieved widespread fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s and won Grammy Awards for Record of the Year in 1968 and 1970. In total, McLemore won six Grammys with The 5th Dimension.
The original lineup received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1991. McLemore remained with the group until 2006. Concurrently, he continued working as a photographer, and his images were published in various magazines.
